Achieve a Tighter Midsection with Abdominoplasty

Here in our practice, Riverview Aesthetic Surgery, we perform the latest techniques in abdominoplasty or tummy tuck. We perform abdominoplasty on many patients who have either lost some tightness in their skin due to childbirth or weight gain, or possibly even losing weight, and the skin of their abdominal area is sagging, and they may have a little bit of extra fat in their midsection. For these patients, we trim that extra skin, we keep a thin scar hidden in the bikini area, we tighten the six pack muscles called the rectus diastasis, and we perform a rectus plication to tighten up those muscles. It works as an internal corset to restore that hourglass waistline that they're looking for. We perform liposuction on the upper abdominal flap to really carve out the six pack muscles, and give patients the flat smooth stomach that they're looking for. Patients normally take two to three weeks to recover from this procedure. There are compression garments to be worn for a few months after the procedure, as well as drainage tubes to take care of. We give you all the instructions about postoperative care, and taking care of your drainage tubes, and your compression garment. We do our absolute best to achieve the nicest results possible. The procedure takes about three hours, give or take half an hour in each direction. It's an outpatient procedure, you do go home the same day. You do have to have a family member to come and help you. It can be performed at an outpatient surgical center, or at a local hospital. And, we call you the evening after surgery to make sure everything went well, and that you're feeling well. Our abdominoplasty patients are typically more than satisfied. It gives them a whole new lease on life.
