Here at Riverview Aesthetic Surgery, we perform the latest techniques in rhinoplastic surgery. I love to see the confidence that a rhinoplasty can bring to a patient who's been self-conscious their whole life, because of a large hump in their nose or a particularly wide, droopy tip. I come to see the patient and get to know them well. We perform a full history and physical exam of the patient, we get to know their needs in terms of breathing problems, any issues with snoring, or sleep apnea. When we take a look, we take a holistic approach to the whole face, and look from the top of the nose, including the forehead, where the nose meets the forehead, to their chin area to make sure that the entire face remains in proportion at the end of the surgery. We'll take a look at their hump and find out how much of it is composed of bone, which makes up the top third of the nose, how much of that hump is composed of cartilage, which makes up the middle and bottom third of the nose. And, tell patients what their expectations should be, and what is a realistic result for their particular nose, their skin type, and try to make their nose fit with their ethnic origin, but come out to be the best, most aesthetically pleasing version of themselves. I love performing rhinoplasty, because you see results immediately, and you can see the difference that it makes in a person's overall face, confidence, and well-being. The procedure typically takes about three hours. It's outpatient surgery, where you go home the same day, and recovery takes two to three weeks to go back to work. Patients are very happy with the results of rhinoplasty. It's something they've been waiting their whole life to do, and improves their confidence, and their overall well-being.
