An Arm Lift Can Restore Youthful Definition

Description

Following weight loss, or simply as an effect of aging, many patients experience sagging skin in the upper arms. Proper diet and exercise cannot correct loose skin. However, an arm lift procedure by Dr. Kishinevsky can help you achieve toned upper arms that complement your entire figure.

Here at Riverview Aesthetic Surgery, we perform arm lifts or brachioplasties on patients for a variety of reasons. Some of them may have lost a good amount of weight due to gastric bypass surgery or diet and exercise. Some of the patients have loose sagging skin that has prevented them from wearing sleeveless dresses and feeling confident in a formal setting for a long time. They're always wearing a cover-up when they go to wear a bathing suit and are self conscious. Some of them have spent years trying to avoid raising their arms in public. It gives me great pleasure to give them a restored sense of confidence and a nice, newer look. We tighten the skin. We keep the scar as small as possible and as hidden as possible deep within the crease of the arm. Brachioplasty involves liposuction of the excess fatty tissue and tightening of the skin of the arm. It's a delicate balance not to take off too much skin because the scar will widen but not to take off too little skin to make sure the result is as perfect as possible. I see patients after this surgery have the confidence to wear sleeveless dresses, go on their cruises, spend time in a bathing suit without having to worry about lifting their arms and in general, just feeling very confident and good about themselves. It's usually a stimulus to continue to workout and develop the muscle tone in their arms and I love to see patients living a more healthy lifestyle as a result. The recovery is typically three to four weeks. Our staff makes sure that patients are well aware of how to take care of their surgical incisions and we'll guide you through the process of the recovery from the surgery. It can be done at an outpatients surgical center under general anesthesia or at one of the local hospitals where the care is fantastic. Patients are typically very pleased with the results. It gives me great pleasure to see that.
