Tighten Your Thighs with a Custom Thigh Lift

Dr. Anya Kishinevsky offers thigh lift surgery at her Norwalk, CT, practice to give you slimmer, firmer legs. Thigh lift surgery can benefit patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and want to tone their upper legs. In some cases, the procedure can also reverse the effects of aging on the legs, giving you more youthful contours. Depending on your treatment goals, Dr. Kishinevsky will use one of three surgical techniques. She will conduct a thorough consultation at our Norwalk, CT, plastic surgery office to discuss your objectives and plan a customized treatment, which will include specialized techniques to reduce visible scarring. Dr. Kishinevsky will also provide complete follow-up care, closely monitoring your recovery and safety.

What Is a Thigh Lift?

A thigh lift is designed to eliminate sagging skin from your upper legs. While thigh lifts are customized to best benefit the patient's body type and goals, Dr. Kishinevsky offers three types of thigh lifts:

  • Inner thigh lift: During this procedure, Dr. Kishinevsky will create an incision running along your groin area, where she will then remove excess tissue from your thigh area.
  • Medial thigh lift: This procedure is similar to an inner thigh lift, however, the incisions will extend further, stretching back towards your buttocks.
  • Bilateral thigh lift: This procedure is beneficial if you have excess skin on the front or outside of your legs. Dr. Kishinevsky will make an incision along the tops of your legs, typically running along your underwear or bikini line.

After evaluating your unique needs and goals, we can recommend the most appropriate type of thigh lift for you.

Determining Your Candidacy for a Thigh Lift

If you have loose skin on your upper legs, a thigh lift may be right for you. This procedure can be especially beneficial if you have lost a large amount of weight, leaving you with significant amounts of excess, stretched skin. Patients should note, however, like all body contouring surgeries, thigh lifts are not designed to help aid in weight loss.

When determining your candidacy for the procedure, Dr. Kishinevsky will also consider your overall health and medical history. Certain chronic health conditions may disqualify you from thigh lift surgery, since these diseases can impede the healing process.

Your Thigh Lift Consultation and Procedure

The first step of this process involves a thorough consultation with Dr. Kishinevsky. During this appointment, you will discuss your goals for treatment, your lifestyle, medical history, and current medications. It is at this time that Dr. Kishinevsky can determine the right type of thigh lift for you. She will also provide preparatory guidelines that will speed and enhance your recovery.

In most cases, your thigh lift surgery will take place under general anesthesia. Once sedated, Dr. Kishinevsky will create the incisions, based on your procedure type. She can also perform liposuction at this time, to remove stubborn fat deposits. Once the desired look is achieved, Dr. Kishinevsky will apply small sutures to close the incisions.

Thigh Lift

Dieting and exercise cannot always eliminate stubborn areas of fat, and they cannot address loose skin. We offer thigh lift procedures to remove loose skin, tighten remaining skin, and eliminate unresponsive fat deposits. Dr. Kishinevsky can tailor this procedure to your needs and goals in order to create results that provide maximum benefits.

Recovery from Thigh Lift Surgery

Typically, after thigh lift surgery, you will take two to three weeks off from work. During your initial recovery, you should get plenty of rest and avoid squatting, climbing stairs, and positioning your body in a way that will stretch the incision sites. After about six to eight weeks, you can typically resume your normal exercise and daily routine. It is important to maintain your regular follow-up appointments with Dr. Kishinevsky, so that she can monitor your recovery and advise you on resuming certain activities.

As your results become more apparent, you will be able to enjoy firmer legs and a younger appearance.

Scarring is inevitable following thigh lift surgery. However, Dr. Kishinevsky will use specialized techniques to reduce scarring as much as possible. In addition, she will place the incisions in such a way that you can typically hide them under clothing and swimwear. It may take up to one year for your body to adjust and for you to enjoy the full effects of your thigh lift. As your results become more apparent, you will be able to enjoy firmer legs and a younger appearance.
