Types of Eyelid Surgery

Upper Eyelid Surgery
During upper eyelid surgery, an incision is made along the eyelid crease. Through this incision, we can redistribute or eliminate excess fat and tighten the skin. The incisions are closed with fine sutures to minimize visible scarring. Upper eyelid surgery can also improve your vision by addressing the obstruction caused by sagging eyelids. In these cases, patients may qualify for insurance coverage.

Lower Eyelid Surgery
By removing or redistributing fat in the lower lids, and then tightening the skin, Dr. Kishinevsky can help patients achieve natural-looking rejuvenation. There is no visible scarring with lower eyelid surgery since the entire procedure is performed on the inside of the eyelid.
Recovery from Surgery
Our surgeon uses gentle techniques so our patients from Norwalk and Bridgeport, CT, and surrounding areas only require one to two weeks of recovery. During this time, you can expect the following side effects:
- Bruising
- Swelling
- Discomfort
- Dry Eye
- Itching
- Tightness
While most side effects subside quickly, swelling can last for several weeks.
