Enhance and Define Your Facial Contours with Cheek Implants

Add volume and define your face with cheek implants, available at Dr. Anya Kishinevsky’s cosmetic surgery practice in Norwalk, CT. Cheek augmentation helps patients achieve the high cheekbones they have always desired. Minimally-invasive and cost-effective, cheek implants are an excellent way to enhance your appearance and boost your confidence.

What is Cheek Augmentation?

cheek implantFacial contours are primarily dependent on your underlying bone structure. A cheek augmentation defines and highlights the facial features with the surgical placement of cheekbone implants. In addition to defining the cheekbones, cheek implants also reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and can eliminate a “sunken-in” appearance by filling in areas that are hollow. The result is a fuller, more youthful face.

Crafted from an array of synthetic materials, the consistency of cheek implants ranges from malleable to firm. Some cheek implants are designed to integrate with the surrounding tissues, becoming a part of the natural facial structure. Other types, such as implants fabricated from silicone, do not integrate and can be removed at a later date if desired.

Minimally-invasive and cost-effective, cheek implants are an excellent way to enhance your appearance and boost your confidence.

Dr. Kishinevsky prepares the sites for implants by creating small pockets in the cheek tissue. The cheek implants are then carefully inserted through tiny incisions, which are typically placed around the lower eyelids or inside the mouth. (If additional procedures are being performed, Dr. Kishinevsky may be able to utilize those incisions rather than making new ones, keeping your treatment as conservative as possible.) Once the implants are in place, small stitches are used to close the surgical sites and promote healing. The stitches are usually removed after approximately ten days of healing. If placed in the mouth, the stitches will typically dissolve on their own within the first week.

Am I a Candidate for Cheek Implants?

The only way to know for sure if cheek implants are right for you is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Kishinevsky. During your initial visit, she can discuss your concerns and goals with you in detail to determine if cheek implants will achieve the results you desire. Cheek augmentation can be performed as a standalone procedure, or it can be completed in conjunction with other treatments, such as a rhinoplasty, face lift, brow lift, or eyelid lift.

Many of our patients who seek treatment wish to add contour to a flat or thin face, which can be caused by aging or genetics. Anyone who desires to enhance their appearance can typically receive cheek implants. As with any cosmetic surgical procedure, it is important to be a non-smoker in good overall health before receiving cheek implants.

Customized Care and Minimally-Invasive Treatment

At our practice, we provide fully customized care to meet your specific needs. Cheek implants can be modified and adapted to fit any face size or shape. You are unique, and the results of your treatment should reflect your individuality.

Many patients worry that the incision lines will be noticeable after their cheek implant procedure. However, because the incisions are miniscule, most patients have little to no visible scarring once the initial healing is complete.
